Final Website

Website:

Home Page:

I wanted my home page to be simple and allow the viewer to understand straight away what service my client provides. I wanted to make my website look like all of my clients other promotion in which her colour are pink white and grey. In order to obtain the pink colour from the logo I copied the photo into Adobe Photoshop and used the eye drop tool. Because I think it's really important to have the to match colours in order to make the website look well put together. I thought it was important to have a photo of Claire with her dog to make her appear loving towards animals. The tagline I used "A professional dog grooming service" is Claire's I decided to make it very prominent to alert viewers to the businesses purpose. At the bottom of each page I added Noses to Toeses contact information so that a client can easily contact Claire without having to visit the contact me page. The social media links take the person straight to Claire's page when clicked.

Services:

I ended up not adding that much information about each service because it varies so much depending on the dog. Claire asked me use the specific picture I used for bath and blow dry to show clients even bigger sized dogs can fit. I also found it important to include the information about the puppy because it could draw more people in. Again me and my client wanted to keep the page simple so I just added the services she provides and photos which easily shows these treatments. I felt the pink lines were really important without the page looks less structured they break up each section.

About Me:

I felt it was really important for Claire to have a small paragraph about her and why she started grooming. I feel this is really important because people need to feel they can trust Claire because they need to hand over their dog for at least an hour. Therefore I felt by adding a slightly personal paragraph viewers would feel a connection to Claire. Also I felt as though it was important to include information on why my client is qualified to add a sense of credibility. This page's purpose is for my client to gain the trust of any potential costumers.

Photo Gallery:

Having a photo gallery was essential to my website because it's important for any viewer to see that Claire gets results and that the groom is worth it. I think these pictures also add an aesthetic appeal to the page. Also when the photos are clicked it gives a small description of each photo because this has allowed me to show viewers the range of breeds and ages Claire has worked with. I also included a photo of a Labrador with information about why short haired breeds also need grooms which I covered in my research.

Contact Me:

Claire made it obvious that she wanted a google maps link as she said a lot of her clients get lost trying to find her location. However this was a struggle every time I put the address in it took me to the wrong place I tried different methods attempting to place the location in the right place unfortunately this did not work. In the end I had to add the location in the wrong place then put instructions on how to get there from that location. For the contact information I also gave the times of when Claire has appointments available. This information can be very useful because it allows people to see if they will be able to go to an appointment or not.

Evaluation:

All my research helped me design my website. By looking at how other successful website's work I was able to pick them apart allowing me to transfer the knowledge onto my own website. Although the example of a bad website i looked at was a bit extreme it helped to realise the importance of positioning photos and text together in order for it to readable. I also looked at other dog grooming sites this helped me understand what my website should include and also helped to show me what is unnecessary. Furthermore a survey helped me to discover what my potential audience would find useful on a website.

My contact with my client was really good throughout which made it easy to keep her updated and to ensure I wasn't missing anything she wanted adding. By making three different templates I was able to try different ideas and even ended up mixing some features from each website into my final design. Although I wish I had narrowed down my to which template I wanted sooner because it took a lot of time move each website along and I would have preferred to concentrate on my final design. I thought all my templates are readable, well structured and professional looking however I picked to use temple one as my final design because I think it's simple yet aesthetically pleasing.

Overall I feel my website works well with what my client wanted although Claire was fairly open with how it looks all she said is she wanted it to be simple and easy to use. I have considered the purpose for each page and kept with the theme of being simple. Also I transferred my research into my website effectively for example in one of the websites I looked into they had a confusing pricing system because price vary so much in dog grooming. As a result I decided to not add a price system especially because prices are normally arranged after.

In future projects I think it's important to remember I need to make decisions faster enabling me to spend more time on my final design. Although I thought it was a good idea to make templates and develop them this then made me rush my final design as I spending time on three different designs.
